Indian Summer Motor Yacht

What sets Indian Summer apart is the single open, sociable saloon at the heart of her rather than a run of closed-off rooms, which keeps a group of six in the same space instead of scattered through the boat. She is a 59ft (18m) Fairline motor yacht, built in 2012 and given a refit in 2023.

On deck

Several separate deck areas mean the six aboard are not tied to a single spot, and the swim platform turns a swim into a step down to the water and an easy step back up.

Water toys

Fishing and snorkelling are part of what she carries, and a jet ski, a stand-up paddleboard, a kayak, water skis and towables can all be arranged ahead of a booking. Her tender, an Avon with a 30hp Yamaha, is what takes the group ashore.

Where she cruises

Marlborough is Indian Summer's home port, and she is the only yacht working out of it; she cruises New Zealand, with December, January and February her busiest months.

Accommodation and crew

Three air-conditioned cabins sleep six guests, the same number she can take by day, and a crew of two looks after them; Wi-Fi covers the boat.

Comfort under way

At 11 knots she settles into a steady cruise, with 15 knots in hand when there is more ground to make.

Charter notes

Indian Summer suits a family or a group of friends, no more than six of them, on New Zealand water; she takes charter bookings for a full week, or a three-day hire when the time available is shorter.
