Ashena Motor Yacht

Ashena's beach club opens onto the sea, so getting into the water asks little more than a few steps down. She was built in 2006 by Custom Made, a 149ft (45m) motor yacht, and refitted in 2020.

On deck

A jacuzzi sits out on deck in the open air, and a swim platform gives an easy way back aboard after a swim.

Water toys

Seven jet skis mean seven riders can be out at the same time, and two Seabobs go with them. A towable tube, a wakeboard and water skis cover the towing, there is tackle for fishing and gear for snorkelling, and a 13ft tender carries guests ashore.

Where she cruises

Her home port is Port Louis, and of the seven yachts based there she is the longest. Her waters run from Mauritius across to Madagascar and the coast of Tanzania.

Accommodation and crew

Six cabins sleep sixteen guests, and thirteen crew run her for them, with December, January, February and March her peak months.

Comfort under way

She takes her time: 9 knots in cruise, 12 knots at the top, and 200 litres of fuel an hour, so moves between anchorages are made slowly rather than at speed.

Charter notes

Ashena suits a large family taking the whole boat or a group of friends travelling together, and the hire runs by the week; by day twenty people can be aboard, which is room beyond those staying the night.
