Papaito Superyacht

Two jet skis travel with Papaito, a Yamaha and a Seadoo that seats two riders, and beside them go fishing rods and a 39ft Yellowfin tender, so the water around her is there for riding, for casting a line and for running ashore as much as for swimming. She is a 121ft (37m) Benetti superyacht, delivered in 2009 and refitted in 2020, and the rest of her kit follows the same idea.

Water toys

Two Seabobs and a hydrofoil jet board come along, together with an inflatable paddleboard, a standup pedal board, a paddle kayak and an inflatable kayak, so several guests can be off the yacht and moving under their own power at once. An inflatable platform with its own inflatable chair, and a set of floating chairs, give a place to sit in the water rather than beside it, and snorkelling gear is carried for looking under the surface. A Williams Jet Tender with seats for eight handles the trips ashore.

Where she cruises

Papaito's home port is Harbour Island, the Bahamas are the waters she works, and her peak falls across December, January, February and March. Her draft is 2m, which keeps shallow water open to her.

Accommodation and crew

Five staterooms sleep ten guests: a full-beam master on the main deck with a king bed and an unbroken view out, and on the lower deck two cabins with queen beds and two with twins, each with its own bathroom. A crew of six looks after those ten.

Comfort under way

Stabilisers are fitted and run both while she lies stopped and while she is moving, so the roll is taken down at anchor as much as on the move. She cruises at 12 knots and has 18 knots in hand when distance needs covering.

On deck

The flybridge holds a jacuzzi that takes six, a wet bar and a settee with a full-size table, so a whole meal can be had up there in the open, and the skylounge is arranged for eating either inside or out. The aft deck is furnished with two coffee tables and room to lounge around them, and the foredeck has been enlarged into a lounge of its own. Inside, the main saloon and dining area are finished in light wood under large windows all round, and the 2020 refit gave her new sofas and dining tables along with fresh linens.

Charter notes

Papaito suits two couples sharing her, or a family. Her tri-deck layout keeps the guest areas and the crew areas apart while every level stays easy to reach, and she goes out on charter by the week, sleeping ten guests, with room for twelve aboard by day on a week's hire.
