Ginger Power Catamaran
About Ginger
Ginger draws little water, and with a hydraulic swim platform and a beach club she can lie close in to a beach and put six guests straight into the sea. She is a 62ft (19m) power catamaran from Iliad Catamarans, built in 2024, and a wide beam gives her generous space both for entertaining and for relaxing.
Water toys
Four Jobe Scooters travel with her, so four guests can be out on them at once, and she also carries two paddleboards, a kayak, floating mats, snorkelling gear and fishing gear. Two tenders go with her as well, and a beach barbecue with its own beach set-up goes ashore in them, which means a meal can be cooked on the sand rather than on deck.
Where she cruises
Ginger is based in the Whitsundays, in Australia, and keeps a second base at Sydney. All of her cruising is within Australia, the Whitsundays and beyond, with quiet bays and beaches to anchor off, and her season runs without a break, its height falling in December, January and February.
Accommodation and crew
Three cabins, each with its own bathroom, sleep six: a queen, and two rooms whose beds make up either as a double or as a pair of twins, so the same cabin serves a couple or two friends. A crew of three looks after them, one crew member for every two guests, and the galley is laid out open, with the chef cooking in view of the guests.
Comfort under way
Two hulls give Ginger a steady platform on the water, which is what twin hulls are for, and she cruises at 10 knots with 12 knots available at the top. Starlink Wi-Fi comes with her, so the connection does not rely on a signal from shore.
On deck
The flybridge is built for entertaining, with a full bar, a barbecue and seating for six to ten, and shade can be rigged when it is wanted. Four separate dining areas mean a party can sit all together at one table or break into smaller ones. A broad bow is laid out for lying in the sun, and yoga and Pilates gear travel aboard with a set-up for using them, so a practice kept at home can carry on aboard.
Charter notes
Ginger suits a family or a group of friends of up to six sleeping aboard, and she is offered by the week, for three days, for a day or for half a day, so a hire need not be a full week. For a day on the water she takes up to twenty, and that is the figure that changes a week for a family: the six who sleep aboard can have others join them for a day out.
