XCS Sailing Catamaran

A beach tender travels with XCS, so the trip ashore from an anchorage is a ride rather than a long swim. She is a 39ft (12m) sailing catamaran built in 2020 by Excess, a yard with only two boats in this fleet.

Comfort under way

She sails at 8 knots and has 12 at the top end, and her twin hulls give her a wide, level deck to walk about on while she is moving.

Water toys

Snorkelling gear is kept aboard, so a swim off the boat can become a slow look at the rock and weed underneath her.

Where she cruises

Her home port is in the Ionian and she cruises in Greece, July and August her busiest months.

Accommodation and crew

Six cabins take twelve guests overnight, and the same twelve can be aboard for a day on the water. A crew of two sails her and runs the boat, so the group is free to swim and sit still while the miles pass. Air conditioning keeps the cabins cool and Wi-Fi keeps everyone in touch with home.

Charter notes

XCS suits two couples travelling together or a family in Greece, and she takes full weeks as well as shorter stays, so the hire can be built around a short break rather than only a long one.
