Ultima 88 Catamaran
About Ultima 88
A twin-hull platform is built for extra deck area, and that is where Ultima 88's layout starts: wide before anything else. Sunreef Yachts is building her now, due for delivery in 2026, to the Ultima 88 model with a flybridge set over her twin hulls.
Build and provenance
She is built in GRP for both hulls and the superstructure, to RINA classification, and carries hull number 10 in the Sunreef range. At 199 gross tonnes across 27 metres, much of that volume sits between the two hulls rather than inside a single one, which is what gives a catamaran of this length its extra beam and deck space.
Layout and accommodation
Ten guests take five cabins aboard Ultima 88: a master suite with a marble ensuite, three further double cabins and one twin. A crew of five works from three separate cabins of their own, work.
Performance and engineering
Twin 691 hp Volvo Penta IPS900 engines drive her to a 20-knot top speed and a 15-knot cruise, brisk figures for a catamaran of this size. A draught of just 1.2 metres opens up shallow anchorages and beaches close to shore, and the twin-hull form keeps her steady underway as well as at rest.
On deck and at anchor
She also has a beach club and a swim platform for reaching the water.
Where she lies and how to see her
Ultima 88 is under construction at The shipyard in Ras Al Khaimah, in the United Arab Emirates. We arrange viewings there through the build, and once she is delivered, we are on hand for the sea trial, with survey following an accepted offer.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
