Sanlorenzo 500 EXP Motor Yacht
About Sanlorenzo 500 EXP
Buying new removes a layer of uncertainty a resale never fully sheds: the yacht is a 47-metre displacement motor yacht of 499 gross tons, laid down in steel and aluminium on a monohull. Sanlorenzo builds her in Italy, with a delivery date of 2028 rather than a service history behind her.
Build and provenance
Sanlorenzo's yard has her under construction now, for delivery in 2028 as a five-cabin displacement motor yacht. Her build combines steel and aluminium, a mix built for years of service rather than for outright speed. An in-build yacht carries no refit history and no prior owner.
Layout and accommodation
Ten guests sleep across five cabins, and a crew of nine looks after them for the length of a voyage. The interior volume, 499 gross tons on a forty-seven-metre hull, is the number that decides how much room each of those five cabins, and the crew's own quarters, actually get.
Performance and engineering
Two MTU 4000 M63 engines drive her to a cruising speed of thirteen knots and a top speed of fifteen, figures that mark her out as a long-range displacement yacht rather than a fast one. Her range runs to 4,500 nautical miles, enough to leave a home port behind for weeks rather than days.
Where she lies and how to see her
She is built in Italy, and that is where a buyer meets her. Boatcrowd arranges viewings and attends them, and once an offer on the Sanlorenzo 500 Exp is accepted we coordinate the survey and sea trial that follow.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
