Solis Motor Yacht
About Solis
Steel under the waterline is a choice a buyer feels every time weather turns, and it defines Solis before anything else. Mulder built her in the Netherlands in 2015 to that steel-hull, aluminium-superstructure combination, and a ten-year special survey completed in 2025 checked the whole structure end to end.
Build and provenance
Van Oossanen drew her naval architecture, and Claydon Reeves Design Studio handled both the exterior and interior design of Solis, a full-custom build rather than a series hull. She is classed to RINA's Unrestricted Range notation, the classification society's mark for a steel-hulled yacht built to cross open water rather than stay close to shore.
Layout and accommodation
Eight guests take four cabins, with a crew of six looking after them. The master suite sits on the main deck, and a full-beam VIP suite plus two further cabins, convertible between twin and double, complete the accommodation below.
Performance and engineering
Twin Caterpillar C18 engines, each rated at 671 hp, take Solis to a 13-knot top speed and an 11-knot cruise, modest numbers that suit a full-displacement hull built for distance rather than a sprint. Zero-speed stabilisers hold her level at anchor as well as underway, and a 2.25-metre draught suits coastal cruising and shallower anchorages.
On deck and at anchor
The sun deck holds the jacuzzi and sunpads, and a balcony off the main deck brings the sea a step closer to the saloon without anyone leaving it.
Where she lies and how to see her
Solis lies in Barcelona, on the Spanish coast. We set up viewings there and come along to each one; once a buyer's offer is accepted, survey and sea trial follow before she changes hands.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
