JR 28 Motor Yacht
About JR 28
Three Volvo Penta IPS 1350 engines and a carbon fibre superstructure are what JR 28 leans on for her numbers: a 25-knot cruise and 34 knots flat out from a 24-metre flybridge yacht. Azimut built her in 2020, and one owner has run her ever since, keeping her off the charter market entirely.
Build and provenance
Stefano Righini drew her exterior and Carlo Galeazzi her interior, a sporty profile over a carbon fibre superstructure built to keep weight down and improve performance. She has stayed under one owner since delivery, used privately rather than commercially, which keeps her history a single line rather than several.
Layout and accommodation
Nine guests sleep across JR 28's four cabins, with three crew in their own quarters to run the boat day to day. The full-beam master suite spans the width of the hull with panoramic windows onto the water, and the Sport Fly layout puts a helm station, seating and a sunpad up on the flybridge for guests who want to be outside.
Performance and engineering
Joystick control and the IPS propulsion system give her precise handling at low speed, with less vibration than a shaft-drive boat, and stabilisers, both at anchor and under way, keep her level in both conditions. It is a combination built for point-to-point speed within her 34-knot top end rather than long open-water passages.
On deck and at anchor
A tender garage and water toys keep the stern ready for the day, and the swimming platform gives simple access to the water at anchor.
Where she lies and how to see her
JR 28's current berth is not published, but Boatcrowd arranges a viewing on request and attends it with you. Once an offer is accepted, survey and sea trial follow in the usual order.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
