How much does a yacht charter in Spain cost?
Charter pricing has a reputation for being deliberately opaque. It is not, once you know the four things you are actually paying for. This page sets out how a charter in Spain is priced, what sits inside the headline figure and what sits outside it, so that you can read a quote and know whether it is a fair one before you speak to anyone.
The figures come from the fleet we represent in Spain and are refreshed nightly. They are the shape of the market rather than a quote: a binding quote comes from the yacht owner or operator company for your specific dates.
A charter is priced by the yacht for the whole boat, not per person. Typical week rates: 80 to 100 ft, $54,864 to $88,228. 130 to 160 ft, $134,242 to $206,608. Typical day rates: 80 to 100 ft, $8,580 to $14,156. 130 to 160 ft, $22,179 to $34,435. On top of the charter fee, budget around 30% for the APA, 21% IVA and a discretionary crew gratuity of around 10%.
What You Are Actually Paying For
A crewed charter has four parts. Only the first is the figure you see advertised, which is why a quote can look like a surprise when it is really just the same charter written out in full.

Work Out Your Own Number
Set the yacht, the length of your charter and how many of you travel. This builds the same budget for your trip from the median week rate for that size class, and splits it per person for comparison only: a charter is priced by the yacht.

These figures cover the whole fleet of 80 ft and over at low season rates, frozen on 1 November 2026. The table above lists only the size classes with 8 or more yachts, so it covers fewer yachts than these figures; its week rates come from the same index and its day rates are recalculated every night.
What Sets the Price in Spain
- Where charters board
Charters in Spain board at Palma de Mallorca, Marina Ibiza (Ibiza Town), Port Vell (Barcelona), Port Ginesta (Barcelona), and nights alongside are paid out of the APA rather than billed on top of the charter fee.
- Getting to the boat
The long-haul airport is Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI), 15 to 20 min by road to Palma Marina, and transfers are arranged by the crew rather than included in the charter fee.
- When the season runs
The charter season in Spain runs from May to October, the peak weeks are July to August, and summer sea temperature is around 22 to 26°C. The Balearics run on gentle thermal breezes: Mallorca and Menorca for coves and calm, Ibiza and Formentera for the season's social calendar.
