Mim Ocean One Sailing Catamaran

Two Seabobs travel aboard Mim Ocean One, two of the five toys this 55ft (17m) sailing catamaran carries, and Bali Catamarans completed her in 2023. She also keeps a second base as well as a home port, which few yachts in the fleet do.

Where she cruises

Ibiza, in Spain, is that home port and Tortola the second base. Her grounds take in Spain and the British Virgin Islands, and also St Martin, St Barths and Anguilla in the Caribbean. St Lucia, Guadeloupe, Martinique, Grenada and Barbados complete the list, so she covers both the Mediterranean and the Caribbean rather than settling on either.

Accommodation and crew

Four double cabins, a twin and a pullman berth sleep eleven guests aboard Mim Ocean One, and by day she can carry twelve. Two crew sail her and look after everyone aboard. Air conditioning cools the cabins and Wi-Fi keeps the party reachable from the boat, so a week on her is neither hot below nor out of touch.

Comfort under way

She cruises at 8 knots and reaches 12, with her high season set in July and August and in the four months from December to March. As a catamaran she rides on two hulls, which means she sails level rather than heeling hard.

Water toys

A 13ft ZAR MiniLux tender takes the party ashore. Water skis and a wakeboard are aboard for anyone who wants a tow, and snorkelling gear for going over the side wherever she lies, so the Seabobs are not the only way into the water.

Charter notes

Mim Ocean One suits two couples or a family, and a charter aboard her puts the sailing in the hands of her crew. Hiring her means those two crew handle the running of the boat, and eleven guests sleep aboard a catamaran that carries her own Seabobs, tender and towables, so nothing needs sourcing ashore.
