Sanlorenzo is building this 50 Steel as hull six, a semi-custom motor yacht for owners who want long days at anchor rather than a fast crossing.
Build and provenance
Sanlorenzo builds the 50 Steel in steel with an aluminium superstructure and teak decking, a semi-custom motor yacht due for delivery in 2029 as hull number six of the series. Zuccon International Project drew her exterior lines, and the steel hull suits a displacement yacht built for steady miles rather than speed.
Layout and accommodation
Ten guests sleep in five cabins, and a crew of nine look after them, close to one crew member per guest. That ratio, on a semi-custom yacht still being built, gives an owner room to shape cabin layout and guest flow before anything is fixed in steel.
Performance and engineering
Twin diesel engines give her a cruising speed of 12.5 knots, which also marks her top speed: a displacement hull built to hold a steady pace rather than outrun anything. A beam of 9.3 metres and a draft of 3 metres keep her stable at anchor and able to reach shallower harbours than a deeper hull would allow.
On deck and at anchor
A beach club anchors the lower deck, with fold-down terraces that open it further to the water, and a jacuzzi and al fresco dining space sit on the sun deck above. Below, a gym, spa and sauna give guests a wellness routine without leaving the yacht, and a skylounge adds a separate room for the evening once the sun deck cools.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
