Running a 39-metre yacht built for strength as much as style changes the calculus for an owner. Mangusta is building the Mangusta Oceano 39 for delivery in 2027.
Build and provenance
Mangusta is building her as a 39-metre, 129-foot motor yacht finished in fibreglass, with that single-skin hull and sandwich superstructure working together for comfort at sea rather than dockside looks alone. Alberto Mancini has designed her interior, a brief built around wide glazing and sliding doors that keep the cabins and decks reading as one space rather than separate rooms. At 299 gross tons she carries that brief on a hull built to stay light.
Layout and accommodation
Twelve guests are accommodated in five cabins, with a crew of seven to run the boat around them, room enough for genuinely attentive service at a full complement. The beach club steps down across three levels with fold-out terraces to the water, and the garage aft converts to keep the tender and toys ready rather than stored below.
Performance and engineering
Twin MTU engines from the 2000 series give her a 16-knot cruise and an 18-knot top speed, pace enough to close a passage quickly without needing to get up on a plane. The low centre of gravity built into her sandwich superstructure keeps that speed comfortable rather than simply fast, which for an owner running her means fewer surprises in a seaway.
On deck and at anchor
Her sun deck and beach club give the Mangusta Oceano 39 two distinct social spaces, one high and open, the other low and close to the water, and the garage aft keeps the tender and toys ready without cluttering the deck when she is at anchor.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
