MCY Motor Yacht

Two Seakeeper gyro stabilisers do the steadying aboard this 86ft (21m) motor yacht, taking the sideways roll out of her both at anchor and when she is moving, and a water maker means her fresh water is produced on board. Monte Carlo built her in 2015.

On deck

Her outdoor living stretches from a lounge at the bow to a large cockpit, with a flybridge kept fully under cover, so there is shade to be had without going inside. A hydraulic bathing platform lowers for easy access to the water, and a deck shower is there to rinse the salt off, while a barbecue handles cooking in the open air.

Water toys

A 12ft tender runs the party ashore, and two stand-up paddleboards mean two people can be out on the water at the same time. Snorkelling equipment and a diving compressor travel with her, along with a floating mat, and a Seabob can be arranged on request.

Where she cruises

MCY keeps her home port at Phuket in Thailand, and she ranges through Thailand and Malaysia, with the islands and quiet corners of the Andaman Sea open to a longer trip.

Accommodation and crew

Four en-suite cabins sleep eight guests in two doubles and four singles, and five crew run her – a captain, two deckhands and two stewardesses – so eight guests have five pairs of hands looking after them.

Comfort under way

She settles into a cruise at 13 knots and will hold 15, and while she works year-round her busiest stretch falls between December and March.

MCY suits a family or a group of friends who want the boat to themselves, and beyond a week's hire she can be taken for three days or for a day on the water with as many as 20 aboard.
