Shard Motor Yacht

Eighteen knots at cruise and 24 at full throttle give Shard the reach to put a distant bay within a day, which is what counts when up to twelve guests come aboard for the day. She is a 47ft (15m) Beneteau motor yacht, launched in 2011.

Where she cruises

Her home port is El Nido in the Philippines, and she works waters from the Philippines down to Malaysia, so the coast she can show guests is not limited to a single country.

Accommodation and crew

Two air-conditioned cabins sleep four guests overnight, with Wi-Fi reaching them. A crew of three runs her – her peak months are December, January, February and March – so there is close to a crew member for each guest staying the night.

Water toys

Snorkelling gear travels with her, so an anchorage becomes somewhere to get into the water rather than only a place to stop the boat.

Charter notes

Shard suits two couples who want a cabin each, a crew to run the boat and a short trip rather than a long one. Day charters and three-day hires are both on offer, so two couples can have the cabins to themselves for a long weekend, or a larger group can come out for a single day on the water.
