About La
Running a yacht this size day to day comes down to the crew, and LA carries three of them to look after eight guests across five cabins, a ratio that keeps her simple to live aboard rather than a project to manage. Sanlorenzo built her in 2022, and at eighty-eight feet she sits at a size where a small, capable crew still covers everything a family needs.
Build and provenance
Sanlorenzo built LA as an SX88, the yard's crossover between a flybridge cruiser and an open explorer, delivered in 2022. She carries a fibreglass hull with a carbon-fibre superstructure, a combination the yard uses for strength without extra weight up top. At 115 gross tonnes and a 7.2-metre beam, she has the volume of a genuinely large flybridge yacht.
Layout and accommodation
Eight guests sleep across five cabins, including a full-beam suite that runs the width of the hull, with a separate area kept for the three crew who run her, apart from guest life. The main deck runs as one open level from the aft terrace to the bow, so the space owners actually use is not carved into separate rooms. On the flybridge, the helm station encloses and air-conditions completely, which frees the main deck below for guests rather than reserving part of it for driving the boat.
Performance and engineering
Three Volvo Penta IPS1050 engines drive her. Cruising at 20 knots, she is built to cover ground at a pace a family can live with, not to chase a headline number.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
