A 29-knot top speed and a flybridge built as a social deck rather than an add-on set the tone for life aboard Chameleon: a yacht for a quick run to lunch and an afternoon at anchor, not a slow passage. Sanlorenzo built her in 2024 to an asymmetric layout that widens the main salon onto the portside rather than keeping it mirrored down the centreline, and living aboard means noticing that extra width every time you cross the room.
Build and provenance
Her hull is composite, with a GRP superstructure, and Zuccon International Project designed her. She was delivered in 2024 with no refit yet recorded, so a buyer takes on a young yacht with her service history still ahead of her.
Layout and accommodation
Four cabins sleep eight guests, with a crew of three living apart in their own quarters to run the yacht around them, a compact ratio suited to day trips and long weekends rather than large house parties at sea. The master suite sits on deck rather than below, with direct access to the bow and skylights overhead, and amidships an atrium links the two guest decks together.
Performance and engineering
Twin MTU 12V 2000 M96L engines, each producing 1,920 hp, give her a 29-knot top speed and a 25-knot cruise, the numbers of a yacht built to plane rather than push through the water. Electric stabiliser fins hold her steady both under way and at anchor, and a Garmin navigation suite runs the technical side, a specification suited to a yacht taken out on short notice rather than planned weeks ahead.
On deck and at anchor
On deck, the flybridge is the main gathering space, with a bar and a louvered sunroof that opens it to the weather or closes it off, and lounging that spreads from there down to the foredeck sunbathing area. Astern, a hydraulic swim platform lowers to the water for swimming and tender access, with floor-to-ceiling windows through the accommodation keeping the interior lit even when the day is spent outside. Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
