About Amara
A calm, contemporary interior by Francesco Paszkowski gives Amara her character, paired with generous outdoor decks that suit a flybridge motor yacht of this size. Sanlorenzo built her as an SD126 and delivered her in 2016, and a 2023 refit has kept her current. At 38 metres she is a substantial platform for a family or a small group who want space without needing anything larger.
Build and provenance
Her hull is a monohull built in GRP, in the flybridge style Sanlorenzo used across the SD line, and she carries RINA classification. She was refitted in 2023, seven years after her 2016 delivery: a documented point in her life rather than a hull that has simply run on unchanged for the same span. Her interior, by Francesco Paszkowski, carries an Italian, contemporary hand through the layout.
Layout and accommodation
Ten guests sleep across five cabins, looked after by a crew of seven, a ratio that keeps service attentive without crowding. The primary suite sits forward on the main deck for a quieter, more stable ride, and a sky lounge gives a separate gathering space away from the guest cabins below. An exterior bar and an alfresco dining area extend the living space outdoors.
Performance and engineering
Two 1,620 hp Caterpillar C-32 ACERT engines give Amara a cruising speed of eleven knots and a top speed of seventeen: modest figures built for comfortable running around Cancun rather than long open-water crossings.
On deck and at anchor
On deck, a hydraulic swim platform opens onto the water and a jacuzzi and sun deck give guests somewhere to gather outdoors, while stabilisers hold her steady at anchor for an easy night off the coast.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
