About Akula
Owning Akula means operating an oceangoing vessel rather than a coastal one: her diesel-electric plant is built for range, not for short hops between anchorages. Rossinavi delivered this 59-metre custom explorer in 2024, and everything about her, from her steel hull to her crew of thirteen, is sized for weeks away from a marina.
Build and provenance
She is a full-custom build, drawn outside by Gian Paolo Nari and finished inside by FM Architettura, with a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure. At 1,241 gross tons across six decks on a 59-metre waterline, she carries substantial internal volume for her length. Akula also holds an Ice Class rating and classification with the Registro Italiano Navale, credentials an owner will use for higher-latitude routes rather than for the Mediterranean alone.
Layout and accommodation
Accommodation sits entirely on the main deck: five staterooms, four of them doubles and one a twin cabin that doubles as a study, house ten guests. A crew of thirteen runs the yacht and its systems, reflecting the hands an ocean-crossing vessel needs for navigation and engineering as much as for hospitality. A separate owner's study gives a private space for work away from the guest areas.
Performance and engineering
Four Caterpillar C32 engines, each rated at 480 hp, drive a diesel-electric system that cruises at 12 knots and reaches 15.5 knots at full power, backed by two 1,080kW generators and two smaller 355kW units for the electrical load a yacht of this complexity carries. Her range runs to 8,350 nautical miles at cruising speed, and stabilisers work both at anchor and under way. Dynamic positioning holds her in place without an anchor down, useful wherever the seabed will not take one.
On deck and at anchor
A swimming pool and an on-deck jacuzzi sit alongside a wellness deck with a sauna, spa, gym and massage room, and an upper-deck observation lounge with a firepit gives a place to watch the sea after dark. A tender garage and a crane sized for heavy equipment support the exploring her range makes possible, and underwater lights plus an elevator between decks round out the practical side of owning her.
Where she lies and how to see her
Akula lies in Palma. A viewing is arranged by Boatcrowd and we attend it with the buyer, and a survey and sea trial follow once an offer is accepted.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
