Mangusta Oceano 52 Motor Yacht
About Mangusta Oceano 52
Because construction on the Mangusta Oceano 52 is still under way, an owner can still choose how her interior is arranged: the yard has kept the layout flexible for exactly that reason, a decision that would not have been possible on a yacht of this size a few years ago.
Build and provenance
Mangusta is building her as a sport motor yacht on a monohull, 51 metres long (168 feet), with a beam of 9.2 metres and a draft of 2.4 metres, for a gross tonnage of 499. She extends the design language of the yard's earlier designs, the next step in that same family line.
Layout and accommodation
Twelve guests sleep in five cabins, looked after by a crew of eleven, a ratio that leans toward attentive service rather than a lean charter crew. The final arrangement of those cabins is still an owner's choice: the flexible layout the yard is offering on this build extends to where each cabin sits and how the guest spaces connect.
Performance and engineering
Two MTU 12V 2000 M86 engines, rated at 1,700 hp each, give her an 11-knot cruise and a 16-knot top speed: enough for a sport yacht built for quick point-to-point runs along the coast rather than long ocean crossings.
Where she lies and how to see her
The Mangusta Oceano 52 is under construction in Italy, where the yard is finishing her design choices with her future owner. We arrange visits during the build and attend them with you, and once an offer is accepted we set up the survey and sea trial ahead of delivery.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
