About Velocity
A yacht's history often shows up in the paperwork rather than the spec sheet. Velocity, a Mangusta GranSport 54, was delivered in 2020, and in 2026 she went through a refit that adds to that record rather than starting a new one. At 54 metres and 497 gross tons, she carries enough scale to give that history somewhere to sit.
Build and provenance
Mangusta built her with an all-aluminium hull and superstructure, a material suited to a long, fast hull rather than one built purely for weight at anchor. Her profile was designed by Alberto Mancini. The 2026 work is recorded as completed, not as a project still underway, which for a buyer means a survey should read current rather than aspirational.
Layout and accommodation
Twelve guests are accommodated across six cabins, with a crew of eleven to run the boat around them, close to one crew member per guest and the kind of ratio that keeps the pace unhurried at a full table. The owner's cabin runs full beam, with its own fold-down balcony, set apart from the guest cabins rather than among them.
Performance and engineering
She cruises at 14 knots and reaches 20 knots at full throttle, speeds that suit a boat built to cover distance rather than sit close to a marina. A tender garage opens from the foredeck, and twin fold-out mooring balconies extend from her sides, both practical for a yacht that spends as much time at anchor as under way.

Velocity lies in Mallorca, Spain, and that is where any first look at her begins. We set up viewings and are there for each one, and once an offer is accepted, the next steps are a survey and then a sea trial before anything is signed off. Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
