About Laniakea
At 27 metres and 100 gross tons, Latitude Yachts is building Laniakea for delivery in 2026. She is still in build, so what a buyer inspects today is a build in progress, not a used yacht's history.
Build and provenance
Latitude Yachts is both Laniakea's builder and her designer. Her hull and superstructure are built in carbon fibre composite, a lighter structure than steel or aluminium and one suited to a yacht meant to explore shallow water: her draft is only 0.6 metres, shallow enough for bays and anchorages a deeper-draft yacht cannot reach. She is classified for offshore use. Chulhun Park, the yard's own designer, drew her interior, finished in warm tones with wood accents.
Layout and accommodation
Ten guests sleep across four cabins, with two crew aboard to look after them. The interior opens into one sociable space that combines the salon, dining and galley, lit by large windows that frame the view. Cream and beige tones, warmed by wood accents and touches of blue, carry through the finish.
Performance and engineering
Two 300 hp engines give her a 12-knot cruise and a 26-knot top speed, enough to close a passage quickly or ease into an anchorage at a gentler pace. Smart systems handle her navigation, entertainment and climate control from one point rather than several.
On deck and at anchor
Life on deck is straightforward rather than elaborate: an elevator connects her decks, useful for guests who would rather not climb between them, and solar panels on the superstructure quietly support her systems at anchor.
Where she lies and how to see her
Laniakea is building in Riga, Latvia, and Boatcrowd is her point of contact for a buyer who wants to follow her towards delivery. We set up viewings at the yard and are there for them, and once an offer is accepted a survey and sea trial follow before handover.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
