About Heesen Altea 50M
Six cabins across two decks put the Owner's suite forward on the main deck and five guest suites below, a split that keeps the busiest deck for guests and gives the owner a floor to themselves. Heesen built the Altea 50M for 2024 delivery, a fifty-metre displacement yacht in aluminium from the Netherlands, at 499 gross tonnes with room for twelve guests and a crew of nine.
Build and provenance
She is built in lightweight aluminium to a monohull, displacement hull, drawn by Dutch hydrodynamicists Van Oossanen and engineered in-house by Heesen's naval architects for a shallow draught. At fifty metres and a beam of nine point one metres, her draught runs to two point two metres, keeping shallower harbours and anchorages within reach.
Layout and accommodation
Twelve guests sleep across six cabins: five guest suites on the lower deck, arranged as two twins and two doubles beside a full-beam VIP suite, with the Owner's stateroom forward on the main deck in its own full-beam suite with an office and a seating area. A crew of nine berths separately to run the yacht around that layout. The bridge deck aft carries a terrace with a table that seats up to twelve for dining outdoors, and the main saloon holds a matching table for indoor dining at the same capacity.
Performance and engineering
Two MTU 12V 2000 M72 engines rated at 1,500 hp apiece give the Heesen Altea 50M a cruising speed of twelve knots and a top speed of nineteen and a half, plenty for a displacement yacht built more for comfortable range than outright pace. The Fast Displacement Hull Form beneath her, engineered for efficiency across that whole speed range, is what lets a modest top speed still feel unhurried rather than underpowered.
On deck and at anchor
A beach club sits aft around a fixed swim platform with a wide central staircase, the natural gathering point once she is anchored. Alfresco dining has its own space on the bridge deck, and a sauna below deck adds a wellness stop after a day on the water. Water toys are carried aboard for guests who want to get off the platform and into the sea.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
