Artisa Motor Yacht
About Artisa
A bulbous bow is the detail that defines Artisa's engineering: it gives her hull smooth, safe cruising in all sea conditions. Heesen built her in 2017 to a design by Frank Laupman at Omega Architects, and a 2023 refit brought her up to date.
Build and provenance
She is a steel displacement motor yacht on a monohull, built at Heesen's own yard. Frank Laupman drew her at Omega Architects, giving Artisa a classic-contemporary style inside and out that carries through from the exterior lines to the interior finish.
Layout and accommodation
Twelve guests sleep across five cabins, with a crew of nine to run the yacht day to day.
Performance and engineering
Two 1,340 hp MTU 8V 4000 M63 engines give Artisa a 14-knot cruise and 17 knots at full power, figures that favour a steady, efficient passage over outright pace. Her beam of 8.5 metres and 499 gross tons of volume turn that efficiency into a stable, roomy platform.
Recent works
Her 2023 refit included her Lloyd's five-year special survey, the inspection a surveyor and an insurer look for at that milestone, so a buyer starts from a hull already checked rather than one still owing that work. She is described as in pristine condition following that survey, ready for a new owner.
On deck and at anchor
A jacuzzi sits on deck and the sun deck opens above it, with sunpads laid out for the hours between engines and anchor.
Where she lies and how to see her
Artisa lies in Hong Kong. We arrange a viewing there and come with you, and a survey and sea trial follow once an offer on her is accepted.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
