About Samurai
A beach club with a steam room and gym, a jacuzzi on deck and a swimming platform give Samurai the feel of a small resort more than a boat, and at 60 metres and 1,029 gross tons there is room enough to use all of it at once. Alia Yachts completed her in 2016 and she was refitted in 2022.
Build and provenance
Alia Yachts built her as a custom design rather than off a standard series, with Van Oossanen Naval Architects drawing a fast-displacement hull meant for long ocean crossings rather than short coastal hops. Omega drew her exterior lines and Redman Whitely Dixon designed her interior. She was delivered in 2016 and went through a refit in 2022, six years into her life.
Layout and accommodation
Twelve guests are accommodated in six cabins, with fifteen crew aboard, a crew-to-guest ratio that points to full, resort-style service rather than a lean team. A Portuguese bridge wraps the wheelhouse level, and sunpads and open deck space run the length of her.
Performance and engineering
Two 3,860 hp MTU 16V 4000 M73L engines give her a 12-knot cruise and 20 knots at full speed, output built for the displacement hull beneath her rather than for outright pace. Air conditioning runs throughout, standard equipment on a yacht built to cross open water in comfort.
On deck and at anchor
The beach club opens astern with folding doors onto a gym and a steam room, and there is a separate massage room besides. On deck, a jacuzzi, a sun deck and a swimming platform give guests several ways to be outside and on the water without leaving the boat.
Where she lies and how to see her
Samurai lies in Amalfi, in Italy. Boatcrowd arranges viewings and is present for them, and once an offer is accepted a survey and sea trial follow before the sale completes.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
