Columbus Atlantique 43

Two CAT C32 engines rated at 1,320 hp apiece are the starting point for the Columbus Atlantique 43, a 43-metre yacht Columbus is building for a 2028 delivery. At 970 kW each they are sized for range and displacement-hull economy rather than outright speed, and that choice sets the character of everything else aboard her.

Build and provenance

Interior design comes from Hot Lab, the studio behind the Atlantique line's stated aim of building for long voyages rather than short hops. Her displacement hull carries a sugar-scoop stern that sits low, at around twenty inches above the waterline, a detail borrowed from sailing yacht practice to make boarding from a tender or the water simpler. She is due for delivery in 2028.

Layout and accommodation

Five cabins sleep ten guests aboard the Columbus Atlantique 43, generous space for extended time at sea rather than short trips. At 9.5 metres of beam and 462 gross tonnes, she carries meaningful interior volume for a buyer who wants room to spread out over several decks.

Performance and engineering

Her twin CAT C32 ACERT engines, 1,320 hp and 970 kW each, drive a 14.5-knot cruise and a 15.5-knot top speed, pace suited to steady passage-making rather than short sprints. A draft of 2.6 metres puts more hull in the water, part of what gives her the load-carrying character of a true displacement design.
