About Lady Lene
A wave-piercing bow and a Hull Vane transom wing are the engineering story of Lady Lene: fittings built to cut resistance through the water rather than simply add speed. Van der Valk delivered her in 2021 as a 34-metre fast-displacement motor yacht, and the round-bilge hull under that bow is shaped for range as much as for comfort at anchor.
Build and provenance
Lady Lene is a custom motor yacht from Van der Valk, delivered in 2021 at 34 metres, with a beam of 8 metres and a draught of 2 metres. Her hull and superstructure are both aluminium, drawn by Ginton Naval Architects with Diana Yacht Design, with exterior styling by Guido de Groot Design and the interior by Carla Guilhem Design. She is classed with RINA. No refit is recorded since delivery, so a buyer is looking at a hull that is still close to new.
Layout and accommodation
Eight guests are accommodated across four cabins, with a crew of seven berthed separately to run her. The owner's stateroom sits on the lower deck with its own office, alongside two double cabins and a single, while a VIP suite on the bridge deck has its own balcony and terrace. The main deck holds an open lounge and dining room lit by large windows, and Lady Lene is fitted for wheelchair access throughout, a detail that widens who can be comfortable aboard her. Aft, an open entertainment area with a bar and a swim platform gives the deck its own gathering point away from the saloon.
Performance and engineering
Two MAN V12-1650 engines, each rated at 1,650 hp, give Lady Lene an 18-knot top speed and a 14-knot cruise, driven through a round-bilge fast-displacement hull shaped by a wave-piercing bow and a Hull Vane transom wing that together cut resistance and fuel burn. A 60hp bow and stern thruster handles closer-quarters work, and two 55kW Northern Lights generators keep the systems running at anchor. A fuel tank of 30,880 litres and a 4,000-litre water tank point to a yacht built to stay out for longer stretches rather than duck back to a marina every few days.

Lady Lene lies in the Bahamas. Boatcrowd sets up viewings there and comes along for each one, and once a buyer's offer on her is accepted, the survey and sea trial follow before she changes hands.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
