Build and provenance
Silver Yachts is building Silver Edge in Australia, a monohull motor yacht due for delivery in 2028. Her hull is aluminium, and Lloyd's Register classes her, decisions suited to a yacht built for a long service life rather than a single season. Espen Oeino drew her exterior lines, and Piredda and Partners designed her interior.
Layout and accommodation
Eighteen guests occupy eight cabins with a crew of 17 in service, averaging nearly one crew member per guest. That ratio points to full, attentive service rather than a lean skeleton crew running the boat.
Performance and engineering
Her twin MTU powerplants deliver a 14-knot cruise and 23-knot maximum speed, with a range of 5,000 nautical miles, enough to cross an ocean rather than hop between neighbouring ports. At 1,055 gross tonnes she carries that range without feeling like a yacht built purely for speed. A 7-metre RIB and a 5-metre rescue tender cover the practical side of getting guests and gear ashore, alongside jet skis and other water toys for days spent at anchor.
On deck and at anchor
The sun deck carries a jacuzzi at its centre, built for evenings rather than passage-making, and a helipad means guests can step aboard, or leave, without touching a tender.

- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
