Ten countries, one working charter fleet: this is the life Bold already leads before any sale closes. She charters through Boatcrowd's own fleet from Falmouth Harbour, sailing between Antigua and Panama, so a buyer can see exactly how she runs with guests aboard. Silver Yachts delivered her in 2019, an 85-metre yacht built for long, ambitious itineraries rather than short coastal hops.
Build and provenance
Bold is Silver Yachts' Loft, a monohull motor yacht with a shallow 2.8-metre draught that lets her reach anchorages inaccessible to most yachts her size. At 1,551 gross tons she carries that size without feeling heavy, and Espen Øino drew her exterior lines, visible in the glass-fronted, light-filled decks. A hull specified for reach rather than raw pace is worth a longer look from any surveyor.
Layout and accommodation
Twelve guests sleep in eight cabins, with a crew of twenty keeping pace with a yacht built to keep going. The main salon, known as the Owner's Loft, opens into a glazed winter garden for dining and entertaining, exactly the space a long-range yacht needs when an itinerary runs for weeks rather than days.
Performance and engineering
Two MTU 16V 4000 M73 engines give her a 15-knot cruise and a 23-knot top speed, matched to zero-speed stabilisers that hold her steady once the anchor is down. That combination points to a yacht built to cover distance efficiently, then sit still and comfortable once she arrives.
On deck and at anchor
On deck, a swimming pool and jacuzzi sit on the sundeck, and a gym gives guests somewhere to train between ports. A jet ski waits for the anchorage, and the helipad opens up excursions further afield, for guests who want to see a destination from above.
Where she lies and how to see her
Bold lies in the United Arab Emirates. Boatcrowd arranges every viewing and comes along to each one, and once an offer is accepted we bring in the survey and sea trial before handover. Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
