About Makoro
A beach club, an on-deck jacuzzi and a barbecue turn a yacht into somewhere a family spends the whole day rather than just sleeps. Ocean Alexander built Makoro in 2020 as a 26R Enclosed, a flybridge motor yacht with around 1,700 hours run so far on her twin MAN engines.
Build and provenance
Ocean Alexander built her as a monohull motor yacht in the flybridge style: 26 metres length overall, a 6.3-metre beam and a 1.6-metre draught, at 99 gross tonnes. That shallow draught matters more at anchor than on a spec sheet, letting her sit closer to shore than a deeper-draught yacht of the same length could manage.
Layout and accommodation
Four cabins sleep eight guests, and a crew of three keeps the boat running and the galley moving without crowding the accommodation deck.
Performance and engineering
Two 1,650 hp MAN V12-1650 engines, run around 1,700 hours to date, give her a 10-knot cruise and an 18-knot top speed, a flybridge cruiser's spread built for a steady passage rather than a dash. Stabilisers at anchor hold her level once the hook is down, useful with a jacuzzi and a beach club platform both asking for a stable boat underfoot.
On deck and at anchor
The beach club, the swimming platform and the on-deck jacuzzi sit among her deck spaces, alongside the sundeck, sunpads and a barbecue for a day spent outside rather than below. Wi-Fi and air conditioning cover the practical side of a long, hot afternoon aboard.
Where she lies and how to see her
Makoro lies on the Gold Coast, Australia. We set up viewings there in person and attend every one, and once a buyer's offer is accepted, survey and sea trial follow before she changes hands.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
