Aquila Motor Yacht
About Aquila
Nine years passed between Aquila's 2015 delivery and a refit completed in 2024, and a buyer now inherits that finished work rather than a project still to complete. Mengi Yay built her, and she lies in Bodrum, Turkey, offered for sale ready to view.
Build and provenance
Mengi Yay built Aquila with an epoxy-laminated wood hull, a construction method chosen for a strong yet light platform. Ginton Naval Architects drew her lines, Ibrahim Konya designed the interior, and she carries RINA classification. At 37 metres and 290 gross tons, she combines useful volume with a hull that is nine years old and a fit-out refreshed in 2024.
Layout and accommodation
Five cabins take ten guests, one of them a full-beam master suite, while a crew of five looks after everyone aboard. That crew-to-guest ratio leaves room for attentive service without crowding the boat, and the full-beam cabin gives the owner the width of the yacht rather than a corner of it.
Performance and engineering
Twin Caterpillar C32 engines, each rated at 1,925 hp, give Aquila a 17-knot cruise and a 21-knot top speed. Fin stabilisers work underway, reducing roll and keeping the ride settled at speed.
On deck and at anchor
Above, a sun deck gives Aquila another open-air level for guests, set apart from the cabins below.
Where she lies and how to see her
Aquila lies in Bodrum, Turkey. Boatcrowd sets up each viewing and is there in person, and once a buyer's offer is accepted, a survey and sea trial follow before the sale goes through.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
