About Curfew II
A ten-guest yacht with seven crew is built for a certain pace: unhurried, staffed for more than the minimum, and set up for people who want the boat run for them rather than by them. That is Curfew II, delivered by the Turkish yard Mengi Yay in 2017 and refitted in 2022.
Build and provenance
She is a steel-hulled trawler-style motor yacht at 32 metres, drawn by the Dutch firm Ginton Naval Architects with an interior by Guido de Groot. She was refitted in 2022, work that sits on top of a hull built for range rather than speed. She is classed with the Registro Italiano Navale and flies the Marshall Islands flag.
Layout and accommodation
Ten guests sleep across five staterooms: a full-beam master forward on the main deck and four further cabins on the lower deck. A crew of seven runs the boat, a generous number for ten guests that shows up as attention rather than idle hands.
Performance and engineering
Twin Caterpillar engines at 490 hp each give her a 10-knot cruise and a 12-knot top speed, with a 4,200-nautical-mile range built for genuine passages rather than short hops between anchorages. Two 75 kW generators and a third at 22 kW keep the systems running, and stabilisers work both at anchor and under way, keeping her steady on longer runs.
On deck and at anchor
Underwater lights mark the transom out after dark, air conditioning keeps the cabins comfortable, and WiFi keeps the boat connected through her itinerary.
Where she lies and how to see her
Curfew II is based in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, within reach of the wider coast down to Costa Rica, Belize and Panama. A viewing on board is the natural first step, and we are there for it with you; after that, an accepted offer moves straight into survey and sea trial before anything is signed off. Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
