Build and provenance
Mengi Yay is building the Mengi Yay 39 as a monohull motor yacht in the flybridge style, 39 metres long and 128 feet by class measurement, with an 8.8-metre beam and a 2.4-metre draft that between them give her 437 gross tons of volume. She is currently under construction, with delivery set for 2028.
Layout and accommodation
Ten guests are accommodated in five cabins, and a crew of five run the boat around them, a one-to-two ratio that keeps service close without a boat full of staff. The specification also lists six guest heads against two for crew, enough that a full complement of guests is never waiting for a bathroom.
Performance and engineering
Twin CAT C32 engines, rated at 1,450 hp apiece, give her a 12-knot cruising speed, a steady pace that keeps the flybridge level and usable while under way rather than only at anchor.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
