A raised pilothouse and a hybrid engine room define GX 42 RPH Hull #2, the second yacht off GX Superyachts' 42-metre line. At 42 metres and 353 gross tons she is due for delivery in 2027, built to run on diesel power or on her batteries alone.
Build and provenance
She is hull number two of that 42-metre line, built in aluminium and styled inside by Marco Casali working alongside Too Design. Buying GX 42 RPH Hull #2 ahead of completion means a buyer can still weigh in on the finishing choices, rather than taking on a boat someone else has already fitted out.
Layout and accommodation
Five cabins take ten guests, and a crew of eight is carried to run the boat and look after them, housed apart from the guest accommodation. The specification describes the layout as customisable, so an owner can still shape the accommodation to their own plan before she is finished.
Performance and engineering
Her diesel-electric hybrid propulsion lets her move on electric power alone at a quiet six knots before switching to diesel for longer runs, cruising at twelve knots with enough range to cross an ocean on that power and reaching a top speed of sixteen knots when needed. She carries 30,000 litres of fuel and 6,000 litres of fresh water, tankage sized for those longer passages, and her battery system lets her ride at anchor in silence, fossil fuel free.
On deck and at anchor
A swimming pool is built into the deck plan, and air conditioning runs throughout the yacht. Solar panels feed the battery system, so the pool deck and the cabins below it can draw on stored power rather than diesel while she rides at anchor.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
