About Blondie
Twenty knots at full throttle sits alongside genuine range in Blondie, two qualities her twin 1,627 hp MAN V12 engines deliver together. Van der Valk delivered her in 2020, and a 2025 refit brought her up to a fresh mechanical and interior standard.
Build and provenance
She is an aluminium-hulled Explorer, one of Van der Valk's 29-metre range, with naval architecture by Ginton Naval Architects and Diana Yacht Design, and exterior styling by Guido de Groot Design. A 2025 refit followed her five-year class survey, and she is described as being in exceptional condition since. For a buyer, that timing means the big-ticket maintenance is recent rather than overdue.
Layout and accommodation
Ten guests sleep across five cabins, the Master suite on the main deck and two VIP cabins plus two twins below, all with their own ensuite bathrooms. A crew of four run the boat from two cabins of their own, a lean number that keeps her efficient to operate.
Performance and engineering
Twin 1,627 hp MAN V12 engines give Blondie a 20-knot top speed and a 10-knot cruise: enough speed for a fast transfer, and enough efficiency at the lower figure for a genuine long-range passage. Stabilisers work both at anchor and underway, so the change from a fast run to a still evening at anchor costs nothing in comfort.
On deck and at anchor
A beach club opens at the lower deck and includes a sauna, a wellness space set into the hull rather than added to a deck. On the decks themselves, fold-down terraces widen the living space at anchor, a jacuzzi and sunpads fill the aft deck, and an al fresco dining area seats guests outside for meals. A crane handles the tenders and toys without extra deck hands.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
