Nine crew members looking after twelve guests gives Project Petra room to run at a measured pace, a ratio built for weeks at sea rather than a short weekend aboard. RMK Marine is building this fifty-metre explorer in steel and aluminium, due for delivery in 2028.
Build and provenance
RMK Marine builds Project Petra with a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure. Hot Lab designed her exterior and interior styling, and Van Oossanen handled her naval architecture, pairing a contemporary design language with engineering built for distance. At 499 gross tonnes she sits in a size band that keeps her efficient to operate for her length.
Layout and accommodation
Project Petra sleeps twelve guests across six cabins, with a crew of nine looking after them in their own quarters, quarters enough for real duty rotations, not a skeleton crew. Full-height windows run through the interior, keeping the cabins and saloons filled with light.
Performance and engineering
She is built for a 12-knot cruising speed and a 16-knot top speed, numbers that describe a displacement explorer covering distance steadily rather than one built to plane. A 3,500 nautical mile range extends that reach further, putting a long passage within a single tank rather than a string of short hops.
On deck and at anchor
A sky lounge and a master cabin with its own balcony are part of the layout, and dedicated toy and dive storage keeps expedition gear out of the guest areas. The gym, the cinema, the helipad and ice-class capability are all listed as options rather than standard fit, so a buyer configures the boat around how they actually plan to use her.
Where she lies and how to see her
Project Petra is based in Monaco. Boatcrowd sets up viewings there and is present for them, and once an offer is accepted, survey and sea trial are scheduled to follow, the standard steps before handover on a yacht still in build.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
