About Cocoon
Scandinavian restraint sits inside a Dutch-built hull at the core of Cocoon, a pairing that gives her a calmer feel than her thirty-eight metres might suggest. Moonen delivered her in 2023, the fourth hull in the yard's Martinique series, and at 345 gross tons she carries volume that a shorter yacht's owner would envy. The interior work leans toward pale, natural tones rather than dark timber.
Build and provenance
Cocoon is a full-displacement motor yacht on a steel hull with an aluminium superstructure, a combination that trades outright speed for a smoother, more efficient passage. René van der Velden drew her exterior lines, and the Swedish studio Andreas Martin-Löf Arkitekter set the interior, which is why the mood reads as residential rather than a conventional yacht saloon. For a buyer, a young hull like hers means a survey that reads as a delivery inspection, not a repair log.
Layout and accommodation
Ten guests sleep across five cabins: a main-deck Master suite for two, two VIP staterooms and two twins with crew quarters held apart for seven. Three exterior decks carry the everyday living outside, a winter garden connecting a bridge-deck lounge to the aft deck, and a sun deck. That much deck space matters as much to guests as an extra cabin below.
Performance and engineering
Two 1,925 hp Caterpillar C32 engines give Cocoon a 14.5-knot cruise and a 16.5-knot top speed, modest figures that come with a full-displacement hull built for efficient distance running rather than a fast dash between anchorages. Stabilisers keep her comfortable underway, a useful pairing on a hull built for covering distance rather than for outright pace.
On deck and at anchor
On deck, a sun deck with a bar and a barbecue turns the top level into the entertaining space, while a hydraulic swim platform and a separate bathing platform lower guests to the water without ceremony. A tender garage keeps the toys out of sight until wanted, and sunpads and an outdoor bar fill the space in between.
Where she lies and how to see her
Cocoon lies in Livorno, Italy, ready for a buyer to step aboard and judge the space for themselves. We set up the viewing and are present for it, and once an offer is accepted a surveyor and a sea trial follow before handover.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
