About Date Night
Buying a yacht sight-unseen, in effect, is what most sales feel like: a survey, a sea trial, and otherwise trust. This Ferretti is different, because a buyer can spend a week aboard her before deciding anything. Built in 2018, she is a 28-metre Ferretti flybridge motor yacht with five cabins, offered for sale from Montauk.
Build and provenance
Date Night is a flybridge motor yacht in fibreglass, delivered new in 2018, with an interior drawn in-house by the yard's own design department rather than an outside studio. She carries gyro and fin stabilisation with a zero-speed mode, running underway and holding her level at anchor. For a buyer, that is a yacht built to sit steady as much as to run well.
Layout and accommodation
Ten guests sleep across five cabins, with a crew of five to look after them. The primary suite runs the full beam, and several VIP staterooms sit alongside it, each with its own en-suite. Custom parquet flooring and Ernestomeda galley cabinetry with Miele appliances carry the finish from the cabins through to where the crew cook.
Performance and engineering
Two 1,948 hp MTU 12V 2000 M86 engines give her a 16-knot cruise and 28 knots at full throttle, with a 300-nautical-mile range that puts more than a day's run within reach without refuelling. A bow thruster and stern thruster handle her at the dock, and underwater lights and Starlink round out what a modern owner expects aboard.
On deck and at anchor
On deck there is a swimming platform and a sun deck for time in the water, and stabilisation both underway and at anchor keeps her level whichever she is doing. Wifi, video-on-demand and air conditioning keep the cabins comfortable, and sunpads add room to stretch out above the waterline.

Date Night lies in Montauk and is offered for sale through Boatcrowd. We arrange every viewing and are present for it, and once an offer is accepted a surveyor and sea trial follow before anything is final. She is also part of our charter fleet, based out of Simpson Bay, so a buyer who wants to know her under way first can book a week aboard before deciding to buy.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
