Alter Ego Motor Yacht
About Alter Ego
Twin 1,900 hp MAN V12 engines is enough power that a buyer should look at what holds Alter Ego steady, not just what pushes her forward: zero-speed fin stabilisers that work at rest as well as under way. Ferretti built her in 2018 as a flybridge motor yacht, and the fundamentals beneath her decks are as considered as the finish above them.
Build and provenance
She is a Ferretti-built flybridge motor yacht on a fibreglass monohull, delivered in 2018. Her twin MAN V12 D2862LE476 engines, each rated at 1,900 hp, are backed by a pair of Cummins generators that have been serviced and are ready to run, so a buyer takes on power that is proven rather than freshly fitted and unproven.
Layout and accommodation
Eight guests sleep across four cabins, with two further cabins holding four crew, kept apart from the guest layout so service runs without crossing paths. The master suite sits full beam amidships, the galley sits forward of the salon for the same reason, and every guest cabin is ensuite, a specification aimed at long stays rather than day trips.
Performance and engineering
Zero-speed fin stabilisers hold her still at anchor as well as under way, which matters most exactly when guests have stopped moving around the boat, and hydraulic bow and stern thrusters make her easy to place alongside a dock without a large crew on the lines. Twin Cummins generators back the main engines, giving her the electrical capacity a full-beam interior like hers draws on.
Where she lies and how to see her
Alter Ego lies in Boca Raton. We set up viewings there and attend each one ourselves, and an accepted offer is followed by a survey and a sea trial before the sale goes any further.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
