Tankoa S501 Motor Yacht
About Tankoa S501
Three propulsion modes sit behind the Tankoa S501: a diesel-electric setting where two generators feed her electric motors, a hybrid split where one engine shaft powers a second motor, and a booster mode where both main engines and generators combine for full power. Tankoa Yachts will deliver her in 2026 as a stock fifty-metre displacement yacht in Italy, built to be efficient at low speed and capable when more is needed.
Build and provenance
The S501 is a monohull displacement design from Tankoa Yachts, delivered new for 2026 rather than converted from an older hull. At fifty metres and 499 gross tonnes, with a beam of nine point four metres and a draught of two point four metres.
Layout and accommodation
She carries twelve guests across six cabins; a crew of seven lives and works separately to run the yacht. Glass bulwarks and fold-out balconies open the interior to the water at anchor, letting the layout switch between an open room and a private one at a guest's choice.
Performance and engineering
Two MTU 8V400054 engines produce 1,215 hp, 895 kilowatts, apiece, giving her a cruising speed of fourteen knots and a top speed of seventeen. Two variable-speed generators can run her electric motors alone for the quietest setting, one engine shaft can generate power for a second motor in a hybrid split, or both engines and generators can combine when full power is wanted. A generator is fitted as standard, sized to keep her systems running through any of the three modes.
Where she lies and how to see her
The Tankoa S501 lies in Italy. Boatcrowd arranges her viewings and is there for each one, and once a buyer's offer is accepted we schedule the survey and sea trial that follow.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
