Running Kaos day to day falls to a crew of three, looking after eight guests across four cabins, a ratio that gives each guest real attention rather than mere coverage. Princess delivered the Y85 in 2019, and she has logged 1,680 hours since: a yacht that has actually been used, not left idle at a dock.
Build and provenance
Kaos is a monohull flybridge motor yacht, eighty-five feet in length with a beam of 6.3 metres and a draft of 1.8 metres. Her hull is glass fibre and her interior is finished in gloss walnut throughout. Registered in the United States, she is currently based in Palm Beach, Florida.
Layout and accommodation
Four cabins sleep eight guests, and a crew of three has separate quarters, keeping family space and crew space apart during a cruise. The saloon and cabins carry the same gloss walnut joinery as the rest of the interior, giving the boat a consistent feel from the helm to the guest suites.
Performance and engineering
Twin 1,900 hp MAN V12 engines have logged 1,680 hours, and two generators carry the hotel load, enough for air conditioning and galley equipment to run through a full day at anchor. A 397-gallon fresh water tank and a diesel tank sized to match give her the range for an extended stay away from a marina without needing to top up daily.
On deck and at anchor
On the flybridge, a jacuzzi sits ready once the anchor goes down, and a crane on the same deck lifts the tender and water toys without deck crew working them by hand. The flybridge itself is the main outdoor room aboard Kaos, from sun to shade to the helm, all in easy reach of each other.
Where she lies and how to see her
Kaos lies in Palm Beach on Florida's Atlantic coast. Boatcrowd sets up every viewing and is present for it, and after an offer is accepted we bring in a surveyor and organise the sea trial before the sale completes.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
