Lori Motor Yacht
About Lori
Steel is the detail that shapes what owning Lori actually looks like: Ocean King built her in 2024 out of the same steel and commercial-shipbuilding background the yard is known for, rather than a composite hull built purely for speed. She is a 42-metre explorer from the yard's DOGE series, built for distance rather than a fast lunch run between headlands.
Build and provenance
The yard's own history is in steel commercial vessels, and that background carries into Lori's construction: a steel-built explorer meant to cross open water rather than hop between anchorages. Ocean King delivered her new in 2024, a 42-metre yacht that pairs that commercial-grade build with an Italian sense of finish. For a buyer, a steel hull built to that standard is suited to longer passages, not just coastal runs.
Layout and accommodation
Ten guests sleep across five cabins, with an 8.5-metre beam that gives the interior real width to work with. At 42 metres and a 2.5-metre draft, she carries proportions built to go further rather than to tuck into skinny anchorages.
Performance and engineering
Her steel, commercial-grade construction favours range and durability over outright speed, the trade a buyer accepts for a boat built to cross oceans rather than sprint between anchorages.
On deck and at anchor
On deck, fold-down terraces open at her stern to widen the living space, and a beach club, a swimming pool and a sun deck add further spaces on board. Together they are built for slow days at anchor rather than for entertaining a crowd underway.
Where she lies and how to see her
Boatcrowd arranges Lori's viewing and is there for it, and once an offer is accepted a surveyor and sea trial follow before she changes hands.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
