Project 801 Motor Yacht
About Project 801
A proven RRM platform is the starting point for Project 801, the yard's design derived from Rolls Royce Marine, now Kongsberg Marine, and adapted for this build. Due in 2029, she measures 81 metres and 2,990 gross tons, an explorer yacht built for global navigation.
Build and provenance
She is a custom build, with hull and superstructure both in steel, and is being built to the Commercial Yacht Code for worldwide operation and to Ice Class 1B, the notation for polar routes. For a buyer, that pairing points to a single hull suited to temperate ports and ice-edge waters alike, without a change of vessel between them. Six decks make up her structure, and Nuvolari Lenard is her exterior designer.
Layout and accommodation
Project 801 carries twelve guests across seven cabins, with a crew of twenty aboard, a ratio built for full service on a long voyage. A certified heli-deck and hangar are built in, and an optional garage can hold a six-person submarine.
Performance and engineering
Engine and speed figures have not been published for this build. She is a monohull motor yacht, and a beach club is built in for time at anchor.
Where she lies and how to see her
Norway is where Project 801 takes shape. We arrange visits to see her build in progress and stand with you at each one; her survey and sea trial will follow once an offer is accepted after delivery.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
