Build and provenance
She has a displacement monohull, with a bulbous bow and flat, flared sections aft, shaped for a level ride and range rather than outright speed. At 9.3 metres of beam and 445 gross tonnes, with a draft of 2.6 metres, she carries real volume within a 42-metre length. She is due for delivery in 2028.
Layout and accommodation
Ten guests sleep in five cabins aboard the Columbus Crossover 42M, the owner's suite forward on the main deck and the four guest cabins arranged below, in the central area of the hull. A crew of seven look after them. Two public rooms carry the entertaining: a deck saloon that serves as the main saloon, and a sky lounge above that becomes the formal dining room, its table running the full width of the upper deck and opening to the side onto a loggia that projects out over the water.
Performance and engineering
Two CAT C32 engines give her a 12-knot cruise and a 14.5-knot top speed, figures that favour range and a steady sea-keeping ride over sprint pace. The Crossover range is built to carry a full-sized tender aboard a comparatively compact hull, and her garage is sized for a tender more like those carried on much larger yachts, the trade the range makes for a boat that can serve as a base for watersports and excursions.

She takes shape at a yard in Italy, with 2028 marked as her delivery year. We put together a visit to see her progress and go along with you, and once terms are agreed, the survey and sea trial follow when she is ready to leave the builder.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
