About Bering B165
A joint effort between the yard and the Swiss studio Valentine Design sits behind the Bering B165, a steel explorer yacht due for delivery in 2029. At 49 metres and 499 gross tons, the Bering B165 already has her guest and crew numbers fixed on paper: 12 guests in six cabins, looked after by a crew of ten.
Build and provenance
She is built in steel, a material choice matched to her explorer brief, and her design is a collaboration between the yard and Valentine Design rather than a single hand. As an In build project she carries no service history yet: her survey will read as a delivery inspection rather than a record of prior ownership. The engine room is built with room to add hybrid systems and a battery pack later, a detail carried over from the same design work.
Layout and accommodation
Twelve guests sleep across six cabins, with the owner’s suite taking the aft half of the upper deck in a stateroom of 32 square metres. Forward of it sits a sky lounge and dining area with a private jacuzzi corner, and the main deck carries two further VIP cabins alongside three doubles below.
Performance and engineering
Two Caterpillar engines producing 1,300 hp apiece give her a 15-knot top speed and a 12-knot cruise, figures that favour range over sprint. That is the arithmetic of an explorer hull, built to hold a steady pace over days at sea rather than to post a fast number on a spec sheet.
On deck and at anchor
The aft terrace opens into a beach club, with folding bulwarks that turn the space into stowage for tenders and water toys once under way. A jacuzzi sits forward in a private corner off the sky lounge, and the bridgedeck holds a sheltered barbecue area with sofas for evenings at anchor.
Where she lies and how to see her
Turkey is where she is taking shape, on course for a 2029 handover. A Boatcrowd viewing means seeing the build itself rather than a finished boat, and we stay with you for it. After an accepted offer, the survey and sea trial follow in the ordinary way.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
