Twelve guests across five cabins is the working arrangement aboard Benetti B.Yond 40M. Benetti is completing her in Italy for delivery in 2028, a 40-metre steel displacement yacht. The layout is built around that guest-to-crew ratio rather than around maximising berths.
Build and provenance
Benetti B.Yond 40M is a new build, a steel monohull measuring 40 metres, or 130 feet, with a beam of 8.6 metres and a draught of 2.7 metres, rated at 480 gross tons. Lobanov Design drew the exterior and Bonetti/Kozerski Architecture designed the interior.
Layout and accommodation
Five cabins sleep the twelve guests. The gross tonnage gives those cabins room to breathe rather than being packed in tight for the length.
Performance and engineering
Two MAN V12 engines, rated at 1,450 hp each, give her a cruising speed of 12 knots and a top speed of 14 knots, figures suited to steady passages rather than short bursts of speed. Her range of 5,000 nautical miles is enough to cross an ocean without a stop to refuel along the way.
Where she lies and how to see her
Benetti is building her in Italy, on course for delivery in 2028. A viewing can be arranged through Boatcrowd at any stage of the build, with someone from our side present throughout, and a survey and sea trial follow once an offer has been accepted.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
