About Canova
Four cabins for eight guests, with a Turkish bath and a concealed fitness machine in the owner's suite, describe a sailing yacht built as much for living aboard as for passage-making. Baltic Yachts delivered Canova in 2019, a 43-metre light-displacement sailing yacht designed around simple systems and comfortable, shorthanded sailing rather than straight-line speed.
Build and provenance
Baltic Yachts constructed her; naval architecture was done by Farr Yacht Design with exterior design by Micheletti+Partners, who also created the interior spaces. Her hull and superstructure are carbon fibre, a lightweight structure suited to the powerful sail plan a boat of her performance carries. At 43 metres with a beam of nine metres and a draught of 3.8 metres, she has the proportions of a boat built to sail rather than to simply cross an ocean under power.
Layout and accommodation
Eight guests sleep across four cabins, including a full-beam owner's suite with its own ensuite and Turkish bath, plus a double and a twin cabin forward. Below, eight crew are quartered in four double cabins, keeping the guest and working areas of the boat separate. For a buyer, that owner's suite, complete with its concealed fitness equipment, signals a boat fitted out for extended living aboard rather than for short trips.
Performance and engineering
A single diesel-electric powertrain gives her quiet, low-vibration propulsion under engine, and a Dynamic Stability System foil, technology previously seen only on smaller yachts and scaled up here, reduces heeling and adds stability without extra weight. She cruises at 10 knots under power, and for a buyer that pairing of quiet systems and active stability technology means a boat built to be sailed hard and lived on comfortably in between.
On deck and at anchor
On deck, the cockpit opens onto a shaded al fresco dining area for guests to eat outside underway or at anchor. A dedicated dive centre and a tender garage below extend a day at anchor into diving and easy trips ashore.

Boatcrowd arranges a viewing of Canova and attends it with you, wherever she is currently berthed. Once an offer is accepted, we co-ordinate survey and sea trial ahead of handover, the same process any buyer goes through before taking possession.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
