Build and provenance
Obsession is an Enclosed Flybridge model from Viking Yachts, a monohull motor yacht measuring 28 metres, or 93 feet, with a beam of 7.4 metres and 185 gross tons beneath her sportfish lines. Viking delivered her in 2017.
Layout and accommodation
Ten guests are accommodated across five cabins, one of them built around a king-size berth. A hydraulic swim platform and a side-deck balcony open the lower deck to the water, so the space below stays connected to the anchorage rather than closed off from it.
Performance and engineering
She holds a 19-knot cruise and reaches 23 knots at full throttle, putting her sportfish hull in coastal and offshore range. A Seakeeper gyro stabiliser keeps her level at rest, useful on a boat fitted with a dive compressor for filling tanks between outings.
On deck and at anchor
Two jet skis and a Williams jet tender live aboard, launched by a dedicated tender crane. Bow and stern thrusters make close-quarters work at the dock straightforward for whoever is at the helm.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import

- Running costs
