Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
Estimated running costs for a yacht of her size are set out on the size page: What a yacht of 20 to 24 m costs to run.
Questions about Bikiny
Where is Bikiny lying?
She is lying in Turkey. Yachts move with the seasons, so her position is confirmed when a viewing is arranged.
How does a viewing of Bikiny work?
Send an enquiry from this page and we arrange to see her in Turkey, fitted around her own movements, and we go with you. Offers are normally made subject to survey and sea trial, so anything a viewing raises can be discussed before anything is final.
Is the asking price of Bikiny negotiable?
EUR 5,500,000 is her asking price. Offers are put to the owner: when you are ready, we put yours forward and agree terms.
What is the VAT status of Bikiny?
The seller states her VAT status as "VAT Not Paid". VAT unpaid means European Union value added tax has not been settled on her, which suits a buyer who will keep her outside the EU or import her under an arrangement of their own. It is confirmed in writing before an offer is made, and our guide to VAT and tax covers the rest.
What will Bikiny cost to run?
Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. Estimated running costs for a yacht of her size are set out on the size page: What a yacht of 20 to 24 m costs to run.
Details are given in good faith and are not contractual. Offered subject to prior sale, price change or withdrawal without notice.
