About Playa
Four guests and four crew describes a boat built around a different job: Playa is a support yacht, designed to carry the gear, toys and extra hands that a larger yacht cannot fit aboard herself. Lynx Yachts delivered her as a Crossover 27 in 2018, and Bernd Weel drew her exterior.
Build and provenance
She is a monohull, explorer-style motor yacht from the Dutch yard, built with the deck space and utility of a working boat rather than the styling of a private yacht alone. At 140 gross tons across 27 metres, with a beam of 7.1 metres, she has real width for her length, useful for carrying tenders, toys and stores for a companion vessel.
Layout and accommodation
A single cabin sleeps four guests, and a crew of four looks after them while also handling the deck work a support yacht exists for, from launching tenders to moving gear between boats. It is a layout built to work hard for both guests and crew, not to maximise berths.
Performance and engineering
Two Caterpillar C-18 engines, each rated at 850 hp, give her a 12.5-knot cruise and a 14-knot top speed. That is a working yacht's engineering, tuned for range and load-carrying rather than outright pace, which suits a boat built to support another vessel rather than lead the way.
On deck and at anchor
On deck, Playa's beach club is her main leisure space, in keeping with a boat whose deck is otherwise given over to work rather than entertaining.
Where she lies and how to see her
Playa lies in Cannes, France. Boatcrowd arranges viewings there and attends each one, and a survey and sea trial follow once an offer is accepted.

Buying Costs
- Survey
- A buyer normally commissions a condition survey, and a sea trial, once an offer is accepted and before the sale becomes unconditional. The cost depends on her size and on where she is lifted, and it is the buyer who appoints the surveyor.
- Registration and flag
- She will be registered on a flag of the buyer's choosing, which carries its own fees and its own survey and crew requirements. Where the yacht is owned through a company, the shares rather than the vessel may change hands, which changes what is payable.
- VAT and import
- Whether VAT is due, and where, depends on the yacht's current status, her flag, the buyer's residency and where she is delivered. Where the seller has stated her VAT status, it is shown with the asking price on her page, and it is confirmed in writing before an offer is made.
- Running costs
- Crew, berthing, insurance, class and annual maintenance continue from the day she is yours. A yacht that is also chartered earns against them, and we will set out what her season has actually returned before you commit.
